Are you one of the many individuals who struggles with self-defeating thoughts, depressive thinking patterns or low self-esteem? Do you find yourself turning down opportunities to thrive due to fear of failure? This may be the result of dealing with depression which is more common than most of us assume and can create barriers to one’s overall happiness, relationships, work life and more. Anxiety is also extremely common and in some instances, the individual may not even understand that anxiety is what they are experiencing.
These two domains are the primary focus of my clinical practice, although I treat a range of other issues. I utilize many diverse treatment options depending upon the client because I believe that each person is unique and as their needs will differ I strive to adjust treatment planning accordingly. Counseling inspires clients to take a leading role of responsibility for their lives, happiness, and relationships, which allows them to break free of misleading and faulty thoughts that prevent positive change. I empower my clients to embrace the reality that goals are achievable.
As a Registered Mental Health Counselor I have been fortunate enough to work with many senior counselors who have provided me with a wealth of experience and education. I have worked in a dual-diagnosis inpatient treatment environment as well as a collaborative private practice which has given me access to a wide range of treatment issues.
I have worked with trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, complicated grief, and personality disorders. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families between the ages of 12-76 although I work mostly with adult populations.
